Understanding M3U vs. Xtream Codes API Setup
When setting up your IPTV playlist, you will encounter two main configuration methods. Both methods sync your **Tivimate subscription** details to the app, but they work slightly differently.
1. M3U Playlist Link Method
An M3U link is a long URL provided by our server that points to our channel list. When you paste this link into the Tivimate player, the app downloads our server files and displays the categories. If we make channel updates on our end, the playlist updates automatically when the app restarts. You will also need to paste a separate EPG XML URL to enable the program guide.
2. Xtream Codes API Method (Recommended)
The Xtream Codes API is a newer, cleaner setup method. Instead of copy-pasting a long URL, you input three specific pieces of information:
- Server URL: (e.g. `http://tivimateprime.com:8080`)
- Username: (Provided by support)
- Password: (Provided by support)
Tivimate uses this API to automatically log in, fetch the channel list, fetch the VOD database, and fetch the correct EPG guide data all at once. You don't have to enter a separate EPG link, making it the most robust option for Android TV and Firestick remotes.
Step-by-Step Configuration on Tivimate Player
To configure your playlist inside Tivimate, follow these simple steps:
- Download the Tivimate app from the Google Play Store on your Android TV or sideload it on your Firestick using the Downloader app.
- Launch Tivimate and select "Add Playlist".
- Select "Xtream Codes login" as the connection type.
- Enter the Server URL, Username, and Password details sent to you by our WhatsApp support agent.
- Click "Next" and wait for the channels to import (usually takes 1 to 2 minutes depending on your internet connection speed).
- If prompted to add EPG, select "EPG" and configure the program guide. (If using Xtream Codes, it will auto-populate).
- Enjoy premium streaming!
